Christmas Trip Part One

Things we did on our Christmas Vacation:
* We met our new nephew/cousin Oliver

My little Punky Brewster and cousin Oliver enjoying Mazie's arm.
 * We visited with Grandma Bentley. She was so happy to have both grand babies by her side.
 * Mazie met her Grandpa Bentley for the 1st time or I should say "PA". That's what he wants to be called.

 * Mazie met her cousin Evan for the 1st time. Evan just loved her to pieces. He loved sharing the pack n play with her. He would cover her and then un-cover her with his blanket. She was laughing the whole time.
Evan is little Rudolph
Mazie enjoyed her bouncy from Grandma and Grandpa Hawley.

Stay Tuned. Part Two is coming soon!

Talkie Talkie

Wow, this little girl is a talker.
If she talks this much now, how much is she going to talk when she's 13?!
Telling us about school, friends, boys! Ahhhh!
I am going to enjoy her babbling right now.

It's the cutest thing. I usually leave for work around 6:45 in the morning and I get home around 4:30 in the afternoon. Right when I walk through the door, Mazie see's me and lights up. Her face is all smiles.
When I hold her and ask how her day was... she goes crazy!
She talks and talks and talks for a good 10 to 15 minutes.
She's almost 3 months and her talking is all high pitched babbling, but seriously, it's the cutest thing in the world!
She's telling me all about her day's with Daddy and Loney.
I love every second of it.

Kristin

Toys, Toys, TOYS!

Mazie is starting to love her toys.
I have fun watching her grab at them and then lay there and analyze them for a minute.

Here's a video of Mazie playing on her fish mat and grabbing at her toys.
She was having so much fun, Loney wanted to join in with her.

I had no idea....

Since having Mazie, we have learned so much!
When thinking of having a baby from a girls perspective, you think it would be like playing with a baby doll.
WRONG!
I was never a fan of baby dolls when I was a kid.
I loved stuffed animals and dollhouses.
So before having Mazie, I thought to myself, "how hard can this be, when she cries, you feed her or change her, that's it".
WRONG, AGAIN!
I had no idea babies could be constipated, constantly hungry and despises her hiccups.
It makes my heart hurt when she rubs her belly and screams.
She is to precious to cry and be upset.
I feel so bad sometimes.
I have been reading this book called Baby Wise.
We've heard such great things about this book helping to put her on a feeding schedule and sleep schedule.
I started Mazie on a feeding schedule yesterday.
We are feeding her every 3 hours, 4 oz each. So she is drinking 24 oz a day.
She usually screams her head off an hour before her next feeding.
She is so used to getting it whenever she wanted.
But we have to put her on a schedule so it's easier on us, her babysitter and her tummy.
I really think the reason why she became colicky is because her feedings were so irregular.
Our goal is to have her sleeping the whole night and used to her feeding schedule by Christmas.
Wish us luck!

Kristin

A Colicky One

Yes.
It's true.
Mazie has hit the colicky stage of life.
She goes from happy to mad.
And when I say mad, I mean MAD!
But she is in more pain then she is angry.
It is really sad to see her not feeling good.
She will grab at her tummy while she screams in pain.
My friend Beci told me to try rubbing a small amount of Peppermint Oil on the bottom of her feet to get her to start tooting.
So I went to Good Earth and grabbed a little bottle of Peppermint.
I came home, rubbed some on her feet and within minutes she started to toot.
It was pretty funny and my house smells like peppermint.
Little Mazie has also been constipated for the past 2 days.
That made me really worried, so I called her nurse and she told me to try 1 teaspoon of Karo Syrup.
So back to the store we went.
I mixed the Karo Syrup with her bottle and right when I started to feed her, within a minute she starts to poop.
I feel like she was a science project the whole day.
Poor little girl.
She slept so good though. She was pretty backed up.
Her little face and loud cry made me so sad for her.
Thank you KARO!

Oh My!

I am obsessed with this dress from Chasing Fireflies!
I could just imagine Mazie wearing it for her 1 year old photo's.
But not for $198.00!!!
I love it though, so beautiful!
I will watch for a SALE.
He! he!

I am in search for a Christmas Dress for Mazie this year. I am hoping to find something cheap but adorable.

She despises....

Her binky.
She will only take it if she is half asleep and I sneak it into her mouth.
I thought all babies loved the binky.
Not mine.
She despises it.
I've tried a few different types of binky's and she doesn't like any of them.
I think that might change when she gets older though.
Maybe when she starts teething.

39 Weeks!

We had our 39 week appointment on Wednesday with Dr Lamoreoux.
I am still 2 centimeters dilated and the doctor is pretty sure he felt Mazie's head.
He was so happy that she turned.
He said usually after 36 weeks, if the baby is breech, the baby usually stays breech till delivery.
My 40 week appointment is on Monday. We will see how I am progressing.
I am ready!
I have been feeling good, but I do have those uncomfortable moments where I can't find a way to lay or sit.
But then some days I am completely fine.
It's very weird.
I am also sure some of my mucus plug has come out.
So now I am just waiting for my water to break or for the gut wrenching contractions to start.
I am pretty sure I am going to go the full 40 weeks and maybe even 41.
We will just have to wait and see.

Kristin
