Talking to Mazie

When Mazie kicks, I start to talk to her. I usually will say "Good Morning and Good Night" to her. Whenever I am laying on the couch and she starts kicking, I tell her that "Mommy, Daddy and God loves you". Loney always freaks out right when I say it. He runs to me and puts his chin on my belly and just stays there for a minute or so. I know he is only a dog but I feel he senses something is about to change to the 3 of us. I doubt he knows it's a baby, but the day we had put up Mazie's pack n play, he just watched from a distance and he looked a little nervous. All I know is I will give him as much love as I give Mazie. I can't wait to see Mazie and Loney interact with each other. Loney is such a caring and loveable dog. I really do feel they will be best friends!

Basket Case? Correct!

HAHA! So I went to the doctor yesterday morning to hear the babies heartbeat as an emergency appointment. I am so glad they got me in right when I got their. The doctor could tell I was really nervous and he told me the baby just changed positions and that is why I could not feel it. He told me he was surprised I was feeling the baby as soon as 16 weeks. He said usually heavy movement is not felt until up to 24 weeks. So after I heard the babies heart rate at 145, and he said it sounded GREAT. I left the office and went back to work. All my friends at work are so sweet. They asked if everything was ok and if the baby was doing fine. It's nice to have a team of work buddies who are like family and care about you and vice versa. So by the time I got home and started to rest on the couch, Jeremy came home with a huge Jalapeno Cheeseburger for me and the baby. I ate almost all of it. About 15 minutes later, the baby was kicking like crazy!!!! Moving all over my belly, Jeremy was so excited to feel the baby and said that was the most he has felt he or she move. I thank God for keeping my baby safe and putting my mind at ease.

I'm ADDICTED!

Yes.. Yes.. I am addicted to food more then ever. That is nothing new since being pregnant. My cravings lately have been:
* Honey Bunches of Oats
* Strawberry Lemonade
* Del Taco Hard Tacos
They all taste so yummy. But this is not something I am addicted too. Since 15 weeks pregnant, I have been feeling the flutters of our baby and now that I am 17 weeks pregnant, I am starting to feel the kicks. I am completely and utterly obsessed, addicted and in love with feeling the kicking of our baby!!! I never knew this feeling could be so amazing. When I am at work during the day, all I think about is going home and seeing my husband of course! But I love to lay down on my back to rest from the day and put my hands on the lower part of my belly and just wait. Sometimes I will wait 5 minutes, sometimes I will wait for about an hour till I feel a movement. It's so hard for me to wake up in the morning because I just want to lay in bed and feel the movement of our baby. It is so exciting, and it makes me feel very connected to him or her.

Flutter Bug

I finally felt the flutter of our little baby today for the 1st time.
I keep reading in the baby books and articles online that your baby will move and kick but you will barely feel it because the baby is still small. The flutters are supposed to feel like bubbles or butterflies in your tummy. I definitely felt the flutters and they felt like little kicks. It was crazy but AWESOME! My 16 week appointment is on Tuesday and we are hoping to find out the gender. Keeping my fingers crossed and praying that the baby is doing great.

Love,
Kristin
