Mazie Month 2

Here are some fun facts about Mazie on Month 2:
* She loves to stand up.
* She is starting to wear 3 to 6 months already.
* She farts herself awake and cries right after (this makes me laugh every time)
* She is starting to enjoy her binky more.
* She cries in her sleep, do babies have bad dreams?
* She loves to look at herself in the mirror on her swing. She will sit there and just smile and talk to herself. It is the cutest thing.
* She now recognizes mommy and daddy when we are at home and with big crowds.
* She loves to go to the gym with mommy and daddy.
* She likes to sleep in the car.
* She misses her daddy when he goes on shift for 2 days.
* October 26th - She held her own bottle during a nightly feeding.
* October 27th - We took her to the doctor because she had a lump underneath her right nipple.
(You can see it in the top middle photo) It's called a Strawberry Hemangioma
* October 27th - We switched her formula from Similac to Enfamil. She does much better with Enfamil.
* November 1st - She is drinking 20 to 24 oz a day.
* November 3rd - Started to get colic. Not fun.
November 18th - 2 month doctor appointment.

Here are her stats:
Length - 23.5 inches long (86th percentile)
Weight - 12lbs 2.5oz (83rd percentile)
Head Circumference - 40.4 (84th percentile)

She also received the dreaded shots!
DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis)
Comvax (HIB (Haemophius influenza type b) and Hepatitis B)
IPV (inactivated polio)
Prevnar (invasive pneumococcal disease caused by streptococcus pneumaniae)

I don't know if I spelt all of those shots correctly. :)
Mazie,
Mommy and Daddy love you so much.
We love your smile and the way you look at us.
Love,
Kristin

40 Weeks (Mazie, Where are you?)

This morning around 1 a.m. I woke up to some sharp "cramping" pains. It felt like I was getting my period. So I thought, "Yay, contractions". I kept track of them, but they were not consistent and then they just stopped around 2:30 a.m.
I had my last doctor appointment today. The big 40 week appointment. I was hoping for the doctor to say "Your in labor, go to the hospital"! But no. I am still dilated to 2 centimeters and that's it.
He told me to just wait to go into labor and if that does not happen. They will induce me on the 19th of September.
I can feel myself getting very impatient. I really want to meet this little one already.
The days feel like they are going so slow but yet fast.
Waiting....is my job right now. I know she will arrive when she is ready and I should not rush it.
But I can't help it.
I just want to see her little face and hold her little hands.

Love,
Kristin

38 Weeks (I think it worked)

We went to the doctor's last week for our 38 week appointment.
We saw Dr. Ollerton and he told me I am dilated to 2 centimeters. We told him that our last appointment, we found out that Mazie was breech.
I told him that I really wanted the doctor's to turn her when I go into labor and I wanted to avoid a
c-section completely. He was a little concerned.
He told us that he can turn the baby but they usually like to do this around 37 to 38 weeks because of the amount of amniotic fluid that is available for the baby.
He said it's usually not safe because the further along you get, the bigger the baby is and the less fluid there is. So he took us to the ultra sound room and HALLELUJAH! (I hope I spelt that right)
Thank you God!
SHE TURNED!
She is now head first in my pelvic area.
Now I hope she just stays this way till delivery.
Thank you to all of my family and friends for your prayers!
We appreciate your love and support so much!

Love,
Kristin

37 Week Appointment (This Sucks)

We went on our 37 week appointment last week. Jeremy and I really wanted an ultra sound and good thing we asked for one. We found out that little Mazie is breech. Ugh! Seriously. My doctor started to talk to us about options on turning her when I am in labor, which means I will have to get an epidural in order to relax my muscles or the dreaded c-section. A lot of my family and friends who know me knew I wanted to go completely natural. THIS SUCKS! I feel very scared and disappointed. My pregnancy has been such a breeze up to this point. I'm scared of the doctor turning her because he said this can always cause complications and when it comes to the big C word, I just don't want that at all. Well I have 3 more weeks to turn this baby girl myself. My schedule starting today is to consistently lay on my back with my pelvis propped up about a foot. I've read that this needs to be done 3 times a day. I know these are old "wives tales", but I am willing to try anything just so I can stay away from that operating table.
But mostly, I am putting all of my faith in God. I know he knows what's best for Mazie and I. I just want her to be born safely.
I would try this, but I am holding to much weight right now.
So I am basically doing this:
Except with a bunch of pillows supporting my pelvis higher off the ground.

Here is little Mazie's profile, the Doctor says she looks good and that makes us happy.
He estimated her weight at 6 lbs 14 oz!
And look, she's blowing bubbles. So Cute!
Mazie, let's make mommy happy and turn for me.
I promise I will feed you as much as you want when you are born. Even when I am tired.

Kristin

34 Weeks and Counting!

This post is a little late. I have been so tired lately to take my 34 week photo.
3rd Trimester is really kicking my behind big time.
My maternity pants are ripping, my ankles are swollen, lack of sleep, the bathroom is my 2nd home and my leg cramps have come back.
Yay for 3rd trimester. Ha!
On the good side, I have 2 more days of work till Maternity Leave! Yes!
I am so excited to just rest. I am looking forward to this.
I had my 34 week appointment last week and this is how tired, forgetful and pretty much feeling "just out of it".
Every appointment they want a specimen sample (a.k.a. pee test)
I am always good at giving them what they want.
Well not this time around.
I went to the bathroom to do my business.
As I was washing my hands, I'm starring at the Dixie cups sitting on the counter for the "pee".
I started to laugh!
I forgot to pee in the cup. (Seriously Kristin!)
I was in La La Land for sure.
My body is so used to me going to the bathroom about 20 times a day and not using a cup.
I tried again to go to the bathroom but nothing (figures)
I contemplated on telling the nurse the truth.
So when I walked out of the bathroom, I threw my hands up and said "Sorry, nothing came out".
The nurse smiled and said "It's okay, it happens all the time".
As she walked me to my check up room she says "usually women forget to use the cup while they do their business, that really bugs us".
AHHHHH! Thank goodness I did not tell her the truth, who knows what she would have done.
Ha!
I know better now.

Kristin

30 Weeks!

10 more weeks till we meet our beautiful Mazie girl!
We are ex static!
I had my 30 week appointment on Wednesday the 6th.
This was the first appointment I went on alone. Jeremy had to work.
My weight dropped and I'm now 159 lbs, my belly is measuring in at 39.5"
I was able to hear Mazie's heart and my Doctor (Dr. Lamoreoux) says everything looks great!
He told me to start counting her kicks and movements and in the next few weeks, I will start to get more uncomfortable. Hmmmm..... not looking forward to that.
Mazie has been moving non-stop for the past 3 days. My belly is morphing into different shapes. It's funny to watch. It makes me sad that she did not move a lot when I was in California for my family and friends to feel.
I was so busy when I was out their, I never had a chance to sit and relax which means she was probably sleeping the entire time.
Love,
Kristin

Basket Case? Correct!

HAHA! So I went to the doctor yesterday morning to hear the babies heartbeat as an emergency appointment. I am so glad they got me in right when I got their. The doctor could tell I was really nervous and he told me the baby just changed positions and that is why I could not feel it. He told me he was surprised I was feeling the baby as soon as 16 weeks. He said usually heavy movement is not felt until up to 24 weeks. So after I heard the babies heart rate at 145, and he said it sounded GREAT. I left the office and went back to work. All my friends at work are so sweet. They asked if everything was ok and if the baby was doing fine. It's nice to have a team of work buddies who are like family and care about you and vice versa. So by the time I got home and started to rest on the couch, Jeremy came home with a huge Jalapeno Cheeseburger for me and the baby. I ate almost all of it. About 15 minutes later, the baby was kicking like crazy!!!! Moving all over my belly, Jeremy was so excited to feel the baby and said that was the most he has felt he or she move. I thank God for keeping my baby safe and putting my mind at ease.

Love,
Kristin
