Mother's Day

Spring is finally here! Yay! While Jeremy was gone from Wednesday to Saturday up at Lake Powell fishing, I spent my time at home, working and taking care of Loney. Yesterday was such a beautiful day. I woke up and headed to a store called Kid 2 Kid (Thank you Mollie!) It's a used clothing, toy and baby equipment store. I found so many cute things for Mazie for such great prices, even cheaper then Walmart, they were definitely thrift store prices and the clothes were in such great condition, no missing buttons, holes or stains. They look brand new.

Loney and I spent the day outside laying on a blanket reading my pregnancy fitness magazine while Loney chewed on his toys. The weather was around 75 degrees. The sun felt so good.

And HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to any woman who is a mother, I can't believe I will be hearing my little one say this to me in the future. Jeremy came home Saturday night and surprised me Sunday morning with a sweet card and a Pillow Pet that I have been wanting to get Mazie! Now she has a Panda Pillow Pet. He is so cute!

The Joy's of Leg Cramps & Body Pillows

Jeremy and I took Loney to the vet on Monday to get his yearly checkup and shots. We were there for about an hour and a half. There was a lady next to us who had a chocolate lab puppy only 8 weeks old that she had to put to sleep because he had issues with his esophagus and digestion and the vet said they could do nothing about it and eventually the puppy would pass away due to not keeping his food down. It was really sad. It made me look at Loney and appreciate him even more and the love I have for him.

We were finally taken into the exam room for the vet to do Loney's yearly check up. We have never met her before, she came in like a wild woman. She was CRAZY! She kept telling us that if we do this and that with Loney, he will die! WHAT! Jeremy and I sat there trying to not laugh at this lady. She was really nice but not very positive. We've had Loney since he was about 2 months old. I think we know our dog. She acted like we were new pet owners or something. You can tell by the speech she was giving to us, she tells all pets owners this, but it was not very helpful. She was just installing fear into pet owners. Not a good thing. She told us to not let him swim in water during the winter or he would get pneumonia and die, DUH! This lady was a little to much. Jeremy and I got in the car and just laughed. Jeremy told me if she was a doctor for humans, she wouldn't be recommended. I agree.

Anyways, I have been working hard on my baby shower invites and can't wait to get them done and mailed out! Here is a little peek:

So all my baby books and magazines that I have been reading have talked about sleeping only on your side for good blood flow and comfort ability. I really don't like sleeping on my side because it's not a sleeping position I am very much used too. I love sleeping on my belly, but once your uterus and insides are up to your belly button, it is not comfortable. So Jeremy and I went to good old Walmart and bought a gigantic body pillow for me. I finally used it last night and it was actually very comfortable. But it's so large, it's like we have 3 people sleeping in our bed. I feel bad for Jeremy. So the other night while sleeping very peacefully and comfortably I woke up in pain from a leg cramp. It hurt so bad. I kept moving my leg back and forth trying to stretch the leg out to get rid of the cramp and trying to do this quietly without waking Jeremy was very hard. I finally got rid of the cramp and fell back to sleep. My leg is still sore from the cramp. The joys of being pregnant. HA!

Food Cravings & Aversions

I despise Onions right now, which is really strange because I used to love eating raw onions all the time. Now, the aroma and taste make me want to run to the bathroom. Yuck..

Fun Baby Stuff

Registering for items on Saturday was fun. I noticed Jeremy scanned a cute little onsie outfit that said "Daddy's Little Princess" and that just melted my heart. It makes me happy knowing he will devote his life to his little girl. We registered for a pack n play all in one set and a stroller that also included a car seat. We couldn't help it. The next day we drove back to Target and bought both. Haha! They are soooo cute and the Pack N Play was on SALE! Thanks for the tip Mom! We got both in blue because we don't necessarily think of blue as just a boy's color, and we plan on having another baby in the future and this stuff is pricey and we plan on re-using a lot of the large, expensive items.

Pack N Play Set comes with a little bassinet, changing section and huge area to sleep once Mazie gets bigger.

Stroller and Car seat set!

Jeremy and I set up the Pack N Play Sunday afternoon in Mazie's little corner of our room. Jeremy set up the stroller yesterday while I was at work. It's so fun to walk in and see a stroller sitting off to the side waiting to be used. And every time I walk by our bedroom, I love to take a peek in and see Mazie's bed set up.

A Snowy Spring..

I swear, I don't think we will be getting a Spring this year in Utah. We woke up to 3 inches of snow Saturday morning. I just want it to get a little warmer. The snow is gorgeous out here and I appreciate it a lot because growing up in Southern California, you don't get snow every year like this. But, I'm ready for Spring...please.

So yesterday, Jeremy and I headed to Target and started Mazie's gift registry. It was actually a lot of fun looking at all the baby stuff and seeing what we need. It was definitely an eye opener that Mazie will be here in less then 5 months. But we are so excited. We just want to hold her and kiss her. We can't wait!

I also started my Baby Shower Invites. I can't wait to send them out. I hope they look as cute as I envisioned them to be.

Also, the 20 week is over and I am on to 21. Bring it on belly bump. Get BIGGER so you don't look like a weird beer gut anymore.

The Hawley Visit

It was great to have Jeremy's family come out to visit us in Utah. They took the long drive from California Thursday morning and got here late Thursday night. Jeremy appreciated all of them coming to see him graduate the next day from Paramedic school. We had a great weekend! We played a board game called "Quelf". Ever hear of it? Basically you choose a card and you have to do whatever the card says. For example, the 1st card I chose told me "If anyone not participating in the game comes within 15 inches from me, I have to bark like a dog until they go away". Hahaha! And of course Loney and his little doggie friend Dash were in the house and constantly coming over to me. I barked the entire game. hahaha! Here are some fun photo's I took of everyone playing the game and we were all laughing so hard.

 Every time Jeremy had to move a space on the board he had to use his elbow without knocking all the other character pieces over

 Grandpa demonstrated the Hula for us

 Steve created his own Yoga moves, which were really good and funny

Rick played electric guitar.

So much fun. I recommend playing this game!

20 Week Ultrasound

We went to our 20 week appointment today. The doctor recorded our ultra sound with baby Mazie! She was moving around a lot and moving her mouth too. The doctor said she was in the most awkward position for him to measure her spine and head. So he started stabbing my belly with the ultrasound gadget. It was pretty funny watching her on the flat screen tv he had (by the way, it was HUGE) She was bouncing all over the place. I was laughing so hard, I yelled EARTHQUAKE! Poor Mazie, hopefully she did not have a headache, but she did cooperate for the doc and he said she looks great. And we got to see her little heart. So precious. It made me smile for the rest of the day. I love her so much already. I can't wait to meet her and I know Jeremy is as excited as I am.

Baby Shower...So many ideas...

I have so many idea's for a baby shower in Cali with friends and family. But I think I have narrowed it down to pastel colors and flowers. I told Jeremy how I want to decorate Mazie's little corner and he said "ok, but I get to decorate when we have a boy". Oh no... hahaha! My plan this weekend is to start my baby shower invites for Cali and Utah family and friends. I am so excited to get them mailed out :) Hopefully my doctor is ok with me boarding a flight to Cali when I'm 30 weeks pregnant. That's 10 more weeks away! :) Now the hard part, forking up the cash to buy the plane ticket. Ugh...

It's a..............................................

 We are having a baby girl! We are so excited to finally tell all of our friends and family. It was so hard to keep it a secret for 3 weeks. I really give parents props for not knowing what they are having until the baby is born. My mom and dad did that with my sister and I. CRAZY! We were so anxious.

So after Jeremy's graduation. We brought everyone back to give them the surprise. All of Jeremy's family and our friends were asking if we knew the gender yet and we kept saying no.....

So when we finally got home, we had the patio decorated in blue balloons. We stopped everyone at the driveway and told them we knew the gender and everyone got so happy, excited and mad that we lied! hahaha! We did not lie, we fibbed a little. So we took everyone to the porch where the blue balloons hung and everyone said "Oh it's a boy"! So we gathered everyone in the living room. Jeremy had rigged a little contraption up the night before. I have been working on a banner for the surprise, so Jeremy set the banner up and covered it with balloons tied to fish wire. Jeremy's mom said to me "Why am I not surprised that it's a boy". I laughed! Just so everyone knows the history behind the Hawley's, Joan and Rick had 6 boys. There has not been a Hawley girl yet. Until now! Jeremy said to his mom and dad "Well here it is" and he pulled the strings revealing the "IT'S A GIRL" banner. Everyone screamed!

It was a fun day! We all cried from the excitement! The most touching part was when we revealed the name.

Jeremy and I video tapped the whole thing. I will try to figure out how to get it on the computer and then my blog.

After all the congrats! We headed out to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Jeremy's graduation and our friend Amber's 26th birthday! She is 2 weeks pregnant before me with a girl too! I wish we would have gotten a picture together. She is so tiny but she has a belly bump already! She is so cute!

We had a great day spent with family and friends!

Jeremy's Graduation!

Congrats to Jeremy Hawley! I am so proud of him! He has worked his butt off studying and doing clinicals for the past 8 months. He deserves this!
